Alibaba's Qwen team released Qwen2.5 on September 19, 2024, a large set of open models from 0.5B to 72B parameters, plus Qwen2.5-Coder and Qwen2.5-Math. The language models were pretrained on about 18 trillion tokens, handled up to 128K tokens of input and 8K of output, and supported more than 29 languages.
Most open-weight models used Apache 2.0, with the 3B and 72B versions under different terms. Hosted Qwen-Plus and Qwen-Turbo models were offered through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio.
