What changed with Claude Haiku 4.5
On October 15, 2025, Anthropic released Claude Haiku 4.5, its latest small model, to all users. Anthropic said it delivers coding performance similar to Claude Sonnet 4, a frontier model five months earlier, at one-third the cost and more than twice the speed, and that it even surpasses Sonnet 4 at computer use.
API pricing is $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, on the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI, as a drop-in replacement for Haiku 3.5 and Sonnet 4. Anthropic released it under ASL-2 safeguards and highlighted uses such as running several Haiku sub-agents under a Sonnet 4.5 planner.
