Where are my sessions stored?

Does Sonedia upload my audio for transcription?

Free transcription is strictly on-device. A subscriber may explicitly allow cloud AI; otherwise transcription remains on-device. If cloud processing cannot run, Sonedia falls back to on-device transcription.

Does Sonedia sync with iCloud?

Yes, private iCloud sync is optional and available on both free and paid plans. Turning it off must not delete the local recording.

Core recording and playback, every recording-quality preset, searchable transcripts, audio export, proof receipts, ordinary iCloud library sync, and Apple Watch transfer are available without a subscription. Projects, tags, smart filters, automatic icons, Shared Albums, overdub layers, editing, effects, mixing, and mixdown require Pro.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Paid creation and processing features become unavailable, but your existing content is not deleted. You retain playback, export, and owner cleanup access.

How do I restore a subscription?

Open Sonedia's subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple ID that made the purchase. If access does not return, confirm the subscription under Apple ID → Subscriptions, restart Sonedia, and contact support with the product name and approximate purchase date. Never email a receipt containing sensitive payment details.

Why does Sonedia need Microphone or Speech Recognition permission?

Microphone access is required only to record. Speech Recognition is requested when on-device transcription first needs it, not at launch. If either permission was denied, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, enable the permission for Sonedia, and try again. Your recording remains saved even if transcription cannot run.

How do Apple Watch recordings reach my iPhone?

Recordings stay queued on the Watch until the paired iPhone is reachable. Open Sonedia on both devices, keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi available, and allow the transfer to finish before deleting anything from the Watch. Sonedia deduplicates repeated transfers and imports the audio before optional transcription begins.

What should I do if iCloud shows a conflict or a recording is missing?

First confirm you are using the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is enabled. Keep the original device online, leave private sync enabled, and reopen Sonedia on both devices. Do not delete or reinstall the app while a recording is missing. Contact support before taking destructive steps so we can help preserve the local copy.

What can a free Shared Album invitee do?

An invited Free user can accept, listen, comment, report, block, and leave. Creating albums, inviting or managing people, contributing audio, and keeping permanent offline copies require an active paid plan and the appropriate album role.

What should I do after a crash or interrupted save?

Accepted Answer

Reopen Sonedia and check Recordings and Trash before recording again. Do not uninstall the app or remove iCloud data. Sonedia uses crash-safe temporary-file promotion and preserves the source recording, but support should review any unresolved recovery case before you delete files.

How do I stop cloud AI or delete cloud-job data?

Accepted Answer

In Sonedia Settings, choose On-Device Only or withdraw AI consent, then use the cloud-data deletion control. Sonedia cancels active cloud work and requests deletion on a best-effort basis; completed local transcripts remain unless you delete them.

What is sent with a Shared Album report?

The selected reason and operational metadata are sent for review. Sonedia never attaches the reported audio automatically.
