Watower Privacy Policy

Watower 1.2 runs locally on your Mac. It has no account, telemetry or network requests. You choose what to share with support or a separate coding agent.

This policy explains how IA COMPA LLC handles information in the Watower app (macOS). It applies to Watower specifically; our website has its own privacy policy.

What Watower handles

  • Live system metrics and top-app names, held in memory while the app runs
  • Local settings, chosen scan folders, and the paths, sizes, branch names and safety status in the last Storage and Worktree Finder scans
  • Local receipts for items moved to Trash, optional widget snapshots, and agent skill files you choose to install
  • Folder listings and sizes for Storage; Git bookkeeping and files read to compare worktrees with Git’s index

Where your data lives

Everything Watower stores stays on your Mac. Settings, last scans and receipts use ~/Library/Application Support/com.iacompa.watower/. Widget snapshots stay in the local App Group. Installing an agent skill writes a local skill file. Live metrics are discarded when the app quits.

What scans read

Storage reads folder listings, file sizes and application Info.plist metadata, not document contents. Worktree Finder reads Git’s bookkeeping and may read files to hash them against Git’s index. Those file contents are not stored or transmitted. Without Full Disk Access, Watower stays out of protected folders where macOS would request permission.

Recoverable cleanup

Cleanup is opt-in. Watower previews eligible items and rechecks them before moving them to the Trash. It never permanently deletes them and records a local receipt. Space is reclaimed when you empty the macOS Trash. Keep independent backups and review your selection before confirming.

Separate AI coding agents

Watower’s command-line tool works locally and is read-only by default. Worktree Trash actions are dry runs until approved. Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents are separate tools. They may send CLI output or other context to their configured model provider under their own settings and policies. Review that tool before sharing private information.

Support and screenshots

Support is optional. Remove personal paths and project names before sharing a screenshot or receipt.

Service providers

  • GitHub — hosts the public downloads and matching source archive. Your browser contacts GitHub when you follow those links; Watower 1.2 does not perform an update check (provider information).

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Your choices

Remove scan folders in Watower to change its scope. Last-scan files and receipts can be deleted from the app-config directory. Remove installed skills from the AI agents page. Removing Watower does not restore items from the Trash or delete independent copies you shared. For questions, email apps@iacompa.com.

Children

Watower is intended for a general audience and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; we’ll change the “Last updated” date above when we do.
