Where are the GPL license and matching source?

Watower 1.2 uses GNU GPL version 3 only (GPL-3.0-only) for IA COMPA LLC’s first-party material. The app page links the complete license, scope, corresponding-source guide and matching source archive. The public GitHub repository hosts releases; its automatic source downloads contain that hosting repository, so use the separately uploaded app source archive. Third-party notices remain in the source distribution.

How do I install Watower?

Download Watower 1.2 from this app page, open the DMG and drag Watower to Applications. Eject the disk image, then open Watower from Applications. Requires Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. The release includes checksums and the matching source archive.

Does Watower send data to an AI service?

Accepted Answer

Watower 1.2 makes no network requests. Its CLI and installed skill work locally. A separate coding agent may send the output you give it to its model provider. Check that agent’s settings and policies.

Does cleanup permanently delete my files?

Accepted Answer

No. Eligible items move to the macOS Trash with a local receipt. Worktrees are rechecked before moving. Caution items need extra approval and Blocked worktrees cannot be moved. Review the selected files and keep backups. Storage is reclaimed only after you empty the Trash.

Why does Storage show protected or unmeasured space?

macOS protects some folders. Without Full Disk Access, Watower skips locations where macOS would request permission. You can grant access in System Settings if you want a more complete size breakdown; it is optional.

How do I add a desktop widget?

Accepted Answer

Install and open Watower from Applications. Open Edit Widgets on your Mac, search for Watower, and choose a small, medium or large widget. Watower writes a local snapshot while it runs.

Where are the command-line tool and security reports?

Accepted Answer

The CLI is /Applications/Watower.app/Contents/MacOS/watower-cli. The AI agents page offers a skill for Claude Code and Codex. Report vulnerabilities privately through the public releases repository’s Security page or email apps@iacompa.com with SECURITY in the subject.
