What changed with Google PaLM 2
Google introduced PaLM 2 on May 10, 2023, at its I/O developer conference. The model came in four sizes, named Gecko, Otter, Bison and Unicorn, with Gecko small enough to run on mobile devices. Google said its training covered more than 100 languages and that over 25 products and features announced that day ran on it, including Bard.
Developers could sign up for the PaLM API, and Google Cloud customers could use the model in Vertex AI. Google also showed domain versions: Med-PaLM 2 for medical questions and Sec-PaLM for security analysis.
