What changed with Midjourney V7
On April 4, 2025, Midjourney let its community start testing an alpha of V7, an entirely new image model. The company said V7 is smarter with text prompts, produces higher image quality and textures, and renders bodies, hands and objects with much better coherence.
V7 was Midjourney's first model with personalization on by default, which users unlock in a setup step of about five minutes. Its new Draft Mode renders at roughly ten times the speed for half the cost and supports a conversational prompt bar on the web. At launch V7 ran in Turbo and Relax modes, while upscaling, editing and retexturing still fell back to V6.
