What changed with Gemini 3 Flash
On December 17, 2025, Google added Gemini 3 Flash to the Gemini 3 family. It became the default model in the Gemini app, replacing 2.5 Flash, and started rolling out as the default for AI Mode in Search. Developers got it in preview through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Gemini CLI, Android Studio, Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise.
Google reported 90.4% on GPQA Diamond, 33.7% on Humanity's Last Exam without tools, 81.2% on MMMU Pro and 78% on SWE-bench Verified, the last one ahead of Gemini 3 Pro. The launch price is $0.50 per million input tokens and $3 per million output tokens, and Google said the model runs about three times faster than Gemini 2.5 Pro based on Artificial Analysis testing.
