Opus 4.7 improves on Opus 4.6 in advanced software engineering and long-running tasks, sees images at higher resolution, and ships with safeguards that block high-risk cybersecurity requests. Pricing stays at $5/$25 per million tokens.
What changed with Claude Opus 4.7
On April 16, 2026, Anthropic made Claude Opus 4.7 generally available. It is a notable step up from Opus 4.6 in advanced software engineering, especially on the hardest tasks, and Anthropic says it follows instructions more precisely and checks its own output before reporting back. Vision is substantially better, with support for higher-resolution images, and its interfaces, slides and documents are more polished.
Opus 4.7 is the first model released under the approach Anthropic set out with Project Glasswing the week before: Claude Mythos Preview stays limited, and new cyber safeguards are tested on less capable models first. Opus 4.7 automatically detects and blocks prohibited or high-risk cybersecurity requests, and security professionals can apply to a new Cyber Verification Program for legitimate work. It is available in all Claude products, the API as claude-opus-4-7, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI and Microsoft Foundry at $5 input and $25 output per million tokens.

Why Claude Opus 4.7 matters for businesses
For agencies, Opus 4.7 is a drop-in upgrade for demanding coding and document work at the same price. Teams doing penetration testing or vulnerability research should expect some requests to be blocked unless they join the verification program.
