Claude Design at a glance
Claude Design, an Anthropic Labs research preview powered by Claude Opus 4.7, turns prompts, files or a codebase into designs, interactive prototypes, decks and one-pagers that follow a team's design system.
What changed with Claude Design
On April 17, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Design, an Anthropic Labs product powered by Claude Opus 4.7, as a research preview for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise subscribers. You describe what you need, Claude builds a first version, and you refine it through chat, inline comments, direct edits or adjustment sliders. Inputs can be a text prompt, images, DOCX, PPTX or XLSX files, a codebase, or elements captured from a live website.
During onboarding, Claude reads a team's codebase and design files to build a design system, then applies its colors, typography and components to later projects. Designs can be shared inside an organization, exported to Canva, PDF, PPTX or standalone HTML, or packaged as a handoff bundle for Claude Code. In September 2026, Anthropic also made Claude Design available inside regular Claude conversations.
Why Claude Design matters for businesses
For agencies, Claude Design shortens the path from idea to clickable prototype or client-ready deck, and the design-system step helps keep output on brand. It does not replace a designer's judgment, but it lets small teams test more directions before committing time to one.
