What changed with Claude Models on Google Cloud
On October 22, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Models on Google Cloud (Anthropic managed) as generally available. Anthropic operates the service and acts as the data processor, while access uses Google Cloud IAM credentials and billing runs through Google Cloud Marketplace on a single Google Cloud invoice that can draw down existing Google Cloud commitments.
At launch it offers Claude Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5, plus the Claude Console. Anthropic says new models, features and betas ship the same day as on the native Claude Platform, including Managed Agents (beta), code execution, computer use, Agent Skills, the Files API, citations, web search and fetch, the MCP connector (beta), prompt caching and batch processing. Fast mode for Opus 5.5 is available at $8 input and $40 output per million tokens. Endpoints are US and Global.
The existing Google managed route stays available. Anthropic recommends it for teams that need Google as the data processor, strict regional data residency, or native integrations such as Model Armor or Agent Engine. Discounts must be arranged with an account executive before you start; they cannot be applied retroactively.
