Twilio makes conversation memory, orchestration, and Agent Connect generally available

Conversation Memory at a glance

At SIGNAL 2026, Twilio released four capabilities that keep customer context across channels and connect any AI agent to its voice and messaging network.

What changed with Conversation Memory

Twilio announced Conversation Memory, Conversation Orchestrator, Conversation Intelligence, and Agent Connect as generally available on May 6, 2026, after a private beta that began in January 2026.

Conversation Memory keeps a customer's history and conversation state across channels. Orchestrator joins separate calls and messages into one conversation and handles routing, escalation, and handoffs between AI and people. Conversation Intelligence analyzes live conversations to trigger workflows. Agent Connect is a self-hosted, model-agnostic, open-source framework that links a business's own AI agent to Twilio voice and messaging.

Why Conversation Memory matters for businesses

For agencies building voice and SMS agents on Twilio, these pieces cover work that often had to be built by hand: remembering prior contacts, passing a caller to a human, and swapping the underlying AI model without rewiring the phone integration.
