What changed with ChatGPT
On October 7, 2026, OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT's Chat tab. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users got GPT-6 Sol and Free and Go users got GPT-6 Luna, both tuned for everyday conversation. The rollout started with paid tiers that day and reached Free and Go the next day; Enterprise access depends on admin settings. The models behind Work and Codex did not change.
The headline feature is Intelligent UI: ChatGPT can answer with interactive interfaces, such as an explorable diagram or a small tool built on the spot, instead of plain text. GPT-6 can also begin answering while it keeps reasoning; OpenAI reports that GPT-6 Instant starts web-search answers 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant.
