Workflows API at a glance
In private beta, HighLevel workflows can now be created, validated, published, and monitored from code or from an AI assistant connected to the LeadConnector MCP server, including execution logs and per-step failure counts.
What changed with Workflows API
On October 28, 2026, HighLevel announced two private-beta releases. The Workflows API (version v3) creates, reads, updates, validates, publishes, unpublishes, searches, and deletes workflows, lists every trigger and action available in a sub-account, and returns execution logs and statistics such as enrollments, completions, and failures per step. Access uses a Private Integration token with new workflow scopes, and sub-accounts not yet enabled receive a WORKFLOW_API_NOT_ENABLED_FOR_LOCATION error.
The same day, HighLevel added workflows to its LeadConnector MCP server. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients can find and read workflows, explain which steps failed and for whom, count enrollments by hour, day, or week, and draft or publish workflows from a plain-language description. New workflows are saved as drafts, publishing is a separate request, and each request works in one sub-account; agency-wide connections are still rolling out.
HighLevel lists several cautions. An update replaces the whole workflow, so you should read it first and send back that version. Editing a published workflow sets it to draft, which turns off its triggers and pauses contacts inside it. Deleting a workflow is permanent and stops everyone currently enrolled. Logs cover up to 30 days per request and go back 60 days, and they exclude builder test runs.
Why Workflows API matters for businesses
For agencies, this is the first official way to roll out a template workflow to many client sub-accounts by code and to monitor failures from your own dashboard. Keep a human review step before publishing anything an AI assistant drafts, avoid edits during business hours because drafts pause live contacts, and keep exported copies of key workflows before you allow API or MCP deletes.
