Adobe expands its Firefly AI Assistant into Photoshop, Premiere, and more

Firefly AI Assistant at a glance

Adobe put its AI Assistant in public beta across Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, with After Effects in private beta.

What changed with Firefly AI Assistant

On June 18, 2026, Adobe announced a major expansion of its creative agent. The AI Assistant in the Firefly web app gained new capabilities in public beta, and AI Assistant became available in public beta inside Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io. After Effects received it in private beta.

Adobe also opened an upgraded Firefly studio that unifies generation and editing, in private beta through a waitlist. The company said its tools are available on ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft 365 Copilot, with connectors for Google Gemini and Slack planned.

Why Firefly AI Assistant matters for businesses

For marketing teams already paying for Creative Cloud, this brings agent-style, multi-step edits into the apps they use every day. The announcement does not cover plan requirements or generative credit costs, so those should be checked before rolling it out to a team.
