Claude Tag at a glance
Claude Tag lets Claude join Slack as a team member: anyone in a channel can tag @Claude to delegate work, and it keeps context, plans tasks and can follow up on its own. It launched in beta for Team and Enterprise plans.
What changed with Claude Tag
On June 23, 2026, Anthropic introduced Claude Tag, starting on Slack, in beta for Claude Team and Enterprise customers. Teams grant Claude access to selected channels and connect it to chosen tools, data and codebases. Anyone in the channel can then tag @Claude with a request; it breaks the task into steps, uses its tools and replies in the thread with the result.
Unlike a private chat, there is one Claude per channel that everyone can see and pick up from. It remembers relevant context from the channels it is in, can schedule its own follow-up work over hours or days, and, if ambient behavior is turned on, proactively flags updates and stalled threads. Anthropic calls it an evolution of Claude Code and says its internal version now produces 65% of its product team's code.
Why Claude Tag matters for businesses
For agencies and their clients, Claude Tag moves agent work into the place teams already coordinate, which makes delegation visible to everyone. Before turning it on, decide which channels, tools and repositories it may access and whether proactive messages are welcome.
