xAI introduces Grok Bot, always-on AI teammates on cloud computers

Grok Bot at a glance

Grok Bot, launched in beta, lets subscribers create persistent agents that work in a shared cloud computer, keep memory, learn routines, and ask for approval before key steps.

What changed with Grok Bot

On August 11, 2026, xAI launched Grok Bot in beta. The official product name is Grok Bot (two words). Bots work on a persistent cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal, and all of a user's Bots share that one computer, so tasks continue while you are away and handoffs reuse the same logins and files.

Bots can sign into existing tools, including sites without a clean API, message each other in group chats, learn a workflow by watching you and replay it on a schedule, and return to you when a step needs approval. The launch page lists access through SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, and SuperGrok Heavy and through Cursor Pro, Pro+, Ultra, and Teams plans on desktop and iOS, with Bot usage separate from those plans and an enterprise waitlist.

Why Grok Bot matters for businesses

For agencies, this is a direct competitor to custom browser-automation agents. Because Bots sign into real accounts and share one computer per user, treat credentials, approvals, and audit trails carefully; the launch page did not detail data-handling controls, though the docs now include pages on approvals, security, and a credential vault.
