What changed with Microsoft Foundry
Microsoft announced on September 3, 2026 that OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra is generally available for all customers in Microsoft Foundry, with Standard (pay-as-you-go) and Provisioned Throughput deployments in Global and US Data Zone options. On September 4, Microsoft's Copilot blog said Astra was rolling out in Copilot Cowork and Copilot Studio, with admin controls in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Foundry pricing for Global Standard short-context requests matches OpenAI's list price at $10 input and $50 output per million tokens; the US Data Zone costs about 10% more. Microsoft highlighted bug investigation, Power BI dashboards, template-based documents and workflows in web apps that lack APIs.

On September 22 Microsoft added GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the generally available lineup in Foundry.
