Public release

Version 20261023.91

Dawnamite 1.9 marks the melody, harmony and bass notes in a MIDI clip and can move or copy each part onto its own track. Imported audio now keeps its original, smaller file, and Free Up Space removes imported audio no project uses.

Public release

Version 1.9: Detect Parts, parts to their own tracks and smaller imported audio

Added

  • Detect Parts (button or D) in the clip editor marks the selected notes, or the whole clip, as melody, harmony or bass, and keeps notes you marked by hand. Right-click to Mark as Melody, Harmony or Bass, or Clear Mark. Parts show in maroon, gold and blue, with unmarked notes in gray. Guide →
  • Separate Parts to Tracks and Copy Parts to Tracks put each marked part on a new track named after the instrument and part, grouped below the source. Separate moves the notes; Copy keeps them. The whole action is one undo step. Guide →
  • Select Part > Melody, Harmony or Bass selects only that part's notes. Guide →
  • Free Up Space in My Projects finds imported audio that no project, trashed project, autosave, template or preset uses, shows its size, and permanently deletes it only after you agree. Recordings and bundled sounds are never offered. Guide →

Changed

  • Imported audio keeps its original file instead of a much larger 32-bit copy. Dawnamite versions before 1.9 can't read samples stored this way. Guide →

Fixed

  • Swiping back to Dawnamite from another Space no longer shows a dark window for a moment. Guide →
