Public release

Version 20261023.89

Dawnamite 1.7 makes a plain drag in the note editor select notes, adds Paste in Place for moving notes between clips, and lists MIDI files and favourites in linked folders. It also fixes MIDI import and track deletion.

Public release

Version 1.7: easier note selection, Paste in Place and MIDI from linked folders

Changed

  • In the note editor, dragging on empty space draws a selection box and double-clicking adds a note. Hold Shift to draw notes. Command-click or Command-drag adds notes to the selection or takes them out. Guide →
  • The installer window shows only Dawnamite and the Applications folder, with larger icons. Guide →

Added

  • Paste in Place (Shift+Command+V, also in the right-click menu) pastes cut or copied notes at the same time in another clip, so you can split low and high notes into separate clips and keep their timing. Guide →
  • Linked folders list MIDI files (.mid and .midi); drag one onto the arrangement to import it. Guide →
  • Star linked folders and files. Starred folders appear under Places, and both appear in Favorites. Guide →

Fixed

  • Importing a MIDI file onto empty space makes one instrument with one track holding the notes, not an extra empty track. Guide →
  • Deleting an instrument's second or later track removes only that track. The first track still deletes the whole instrument. Guide →
  • When a drive is unplugged, its linked folders show Folder not found straight away. Files already dropped into a project were copied into it and keep playing. Guide →
