Public release

Version 20261025.93

Dawnamite 2.1 reduces scheduled native plug-in transport delay, keeps Mix latency consistent across the studio, and improves note editing, resource release and export reliability.

Public release

Version 2.1: lower native plug-in delay and safer editing, cleanup and export

Changed

  • At 48 kHz, admitted small-buffer native profiles reserve 10.67, 16.00 or 21.33 ms of scheduled plug-in transport delay, instead of 58.67 ms. Actual output buffering and callback requirements select the profile; device and plug-in processing delay are additional. Browser transport is unchanged. Guide →
  • Preferences and the bottom bar show the same Mix latency and update together. Input, output and engine processing are separate; Applied or Custom settings describes whether the actual buffer and policies match the saved performance mode. Guide →
  • Large note selections avoid repeated clip scans. Detect Parts runs away from the UI, supports cancellation and discards stale results; its musical classification rules are unchanged. Guide →

Fixed

  • Free Up Space and manual library deletion recheck saved versions, autosaves, Trash, templates, presets, open projects and Undo/Redo history. Removing a clip keeps its source audio. Previews, pending loads and inactive SoundFonts release resources when no longer needed. Guide →
  • Part mute and solo preserve individual note mute and Chance settings. Copying only some parts preserves the source notes' state. Vertical Clip scrolling stays vertical, while horizontal and thumb-wheel input pans in time. Guide →
  • Export respects source boundaries and fixed-tail lengths. Stems use a common output window and stable project snapshot. Export preparation is cancellable. Guide →
  • Bounce in Place isolates selected lanes, preserves automation and applies multiple results in one Undo step. Cancelling before application keeps the original edit intact. Guide →
  • Update checks have time limits, and a cancelled attempt cannot interfere with a newer attempt. Guide →

Current limits

  • Displayed latency is an estimate, not a physical MIDI or interface measurement. Output recovery stops an active recording or count-in without automatic resumption. Guide →
  • Resource-release fixes do not reduce the fixed 128 MiB audio allocation. Large exports still require full audio buffers. Automatic tails have a 30-second cap; use a longer fixed tail for long or sparse echoes. No mastering workspace or assistant is added. Guide →
