CZ-style phase distortion synthesizer
Add it to a track
Select a MIDI track and choose this instrument from Library → Devices → Instruments. Instruments turn notes into sound; an empty MIDI region needs notes before it will play.
Controls
| Control | What to listen or look for |

| Line | Chooses which phase-distortion oscillator lines are heard. |
| Mod | Chooses the interaction between the two oscillator lines. |
| Octave | Moves pitch up or down in whole octaves. |
| Detune | Makes fine pitch adjustments in cents; 100 cents equals one semitone. |
| Tune | Makes fine pitch adjustments in cents; 100 cents equals one semitone. |
| Glide time | Sets how gradually pitch slides from one note to the next. |
| Play Mode | Chooses whether the instrument plays one note at a time or multiple notes together. |
| Vib. Wave | Chooses the waveform of the pitch vibrato. |
| Vib. Delay | Sets how long a note waits before vibrato begins. |
| Vib. Rate | Sets how fast pitch vibrato cycles. |
| Vib. Depth | Sets how far pitch vibrato moves above and below the note. |
| Wave 1 | Chooses the oscillator waveform and its basic harmonic character. |
| Wave 2 | Chooses the oscillator waveform and its basic harmonic character. |
| DCW Key Follow | Makes the phase-distortion envelope response depend on the played note. |
| DCA Key Follow | Makes the amplitude envelope response depend on the played note. |
Work with this device
Start with a short passage that represents your material. Change one control at a time. Compare at a similar listening level, using the device's power control to bypass it. Save a version of the project before making a large change.
